This is far more common than one might think. According to a new report, 65% of America's colleges and universities maintain severely restrictive speech codes. Less than 4% allow unrestricted free speech. For example, a college student in California was detained for handing out copies of the Constitution... on Constitution Day. He was told he could do so only on a tiny patch of ground reserved for free speech, and that he would have to reserve the area several weeks in advance.
A waiting period for free speech!
Are we no longer instilling the principles of free speech in our children anymore? Is our educational system instead promoting deference to authority?
